Notice of Intent to Promote
It is compulsory for students to submit a 'Notice of Intent to Promote' application, along with full payment prior to the Pre-Test.
It is necessary to attend both the pre-test and graduation event in order to receive your new rank. Only in special circumstances and at the invitation of the Chief Instructor will students be permitted to attempt more than one rank in any given cycle.
Arrive at least 15 minutes early, warm up and be ready to go. Students should be in full uniform with clean pressed t-shirts displaying correct rank stripe.
Pre-Test
During your pre-test you will be asked to show each technique within the rank for which you wish to graduate. The instructor will provided feedback on aspects which can be improved. If the instructor feels confident that you are ready for graduation then you will be then put forward to attend the graduation assessment event. If your technique requires improvement than you might be recommended for review at a later time that week. If you have shown sufficient improvement you will then pass through to graduation, if not you will be recommended to delay your graduation until the next cycle.
Graduation
You will perform your techniques in drill and or scenario format before the examination board, fellow students, friends and family. Upon successful completion of your assessment you will then be awarded your new rank.
This is a celebration of your achievements thus far and we encourage you to invite your friends and family to attend. Students with family support are much more likely to succeed in achieving their goals and seeing their training through the tough times. Having your friends and family attend will enable them to see what you are achieving, and help them understand why you are so passionate and committed to your training. So don't forget to invite and rsvp for your loved at least 3 days before the event.
Any questions regarding assessments should be directed to Chief Instructor, AJ Kearns on 03 9383 4848. Assessment Costs - Units 1, 2, 3 = $55 each
