This practical weapons based system was developed by Raymond Floro, a fencing champion and respected martial artist, after extensive training in European and Filipino methods of edged weapon combat. By focusing on the use of improvised weapons for self-defence, it provides participants with a strong self-defence system that is not based on strength or size. Style characteristics include:
Use of Distance – use of long range or extremely close range, Little use of medium range due to the high probability of "double kills". Utilizing footwork derived from fencing, the FFS practitioner can close the distance quickly.
Use of Linear Motion - Faster and require less space which is good for crowded places like bars or trains etc.
Closed Friday 25th April, Anzac Day.
Also please note: Our induction class will run Wednesday evenings 6.30pm for the next 2 weeks, instead of the usual Friday night due to public holiday closures.
